Introduction

Joshua has been playing keyboards and piano from the age of 8. Having studied pop keyboard very initially made him open to playing across various styles such as Pop, Rock and more recently having forayed into Jazz and Blues. Joshua plays with various bands and artists.  To name a few, Colin D’Cruz and Jazz Junction, The Gerard Machado Network, Riverman Band, The Beer Puppets, retro setup The Butterfingers , & Classic Wild playing Classic Rock and some progressive rock. Off late he is also part of an interesting music project fusing Bollywood classics with the elements of jazz and R&B called MaJa. His musical tastes range across Jazz, Funk and Blues to Rock n Roll and other retro stuff. He Says "I love to play anything where my creative gene gets activated and I am able to improvise and experiment. My goal is to have fun with music be it at a studio, stage or wherever !!". Perfect strangers were recently adjudged the first place winners in the Hornbill International Rock Festival 2018 held at Nagaland. Joshua has two albums of his Own (Always there and Aikya) produced by Colin D’Cruz under the JazzGoa label. He listens to a lot of variety because he believes what you hear is what comes out of you, Stuff he listens to includes Keith Jarret, Chick Corea, More recent New Age jazz artists such as Manuel Valera, Robert Glasper,  and also contemporary pop such as ABBA, Carpenters, Beatles, Sting etc. He has also co-founded and heads the keyboard and piano faculty at the Perfect Strangers School of Music

Performances

I have performed at various events ranging from Corporate Events, product Launches and dinners to weddings to restaurant / pub and night club gigs. Have also performed at various national and international music festivals like Jazz Yatra , Delhi Hornbill, Nagaland and the Sri Lanka International Jazz Festival, Colombo.

Bio:

Joshua has been playing keyboards and piano from the age of 8. Having studied pop keyboard very initially made him open to playing across various styles such as Pop, Rock and later foraying into Jazz and Blues which he has been playing for close to a decade. Joshua sessions with various bands and artists.  To name a few active lineups, The Gerard Machado duo and Network, retro setup The Butterfingers , & Classic Wild playing Classic Rock and some progressive rock. He has also performed at several national and international jazz festivals both within India and Overseas such as The Colombo International Jazz festival, Beerfest Asia 19 (Singapore), Kasauli Rhythm and Blues festival , Jazz Yatra Delhi etc. He is also the keyboardist of melodic rock band "Perfect Strangers" based out of Bangalore. Heavily influenced by iconic rock bands like Toto , Journey and jazz rock bands like Steely Dan and the like, the band writes music that fuses a variety of styles. Their debut album is called "A Strange connection". Perfect strangers were recently adjudged the first place winners in the Hornbill International Rock Festival 2018 held at Nagaland. The band has extensively toured various countries across South East Asia performing at various pubs and public venues.
